masterpiece of the month (july): "The Lemon Bathing Suit" by amoako boafo

Accra-based artist Amoako Boafo uses his fingers to create the exquisite swirls on his billboard-breadth portraits. he says, "the primary idea of my practice is representation, documenting, celebrating and showing new ways to approach blackness.” Boafo is preparing for his first solo show at the Mariane Ibrahim gallery in Chicago in September.
