Love From Lexi's top five illustrators

I first came across @lovefromlexi on Instagram and couldn’t get her whimsical work out my head. each post that popped up put a sprawling smile on my face, at a time when it was really needed. from her cut-out paper dinner-parties and intricate interiors illustrations to drawings of cult-products by brands like Straw and Folka- everything her pen touches takes on a whole new life.

this is her rendition of my daughter Romy’s nursery- complete with all the details (Hockney sausage dog print and Matilda Goad lampshade)- and it pretty much sums up why she is so brilliant. look out for her signature cut-outs and bright and bold tones.

here Lexi is nominating five illustrators she admires for PIECES:

1) JOHN STEPTOE Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale was one of my favourite childhood books. it's a very poignant story of the power of kindness.

2) MAIRA KALMAN I stumbled across Maira Kalman's books in my local charity shop. her images are so joyful and packed full of life. @mairakalman 3. MOLLY MARTIN I've been an admirer of Molly's work for a few years now. it is so beautifully unfussy. I find the simplicity of her lines truly emotive. @molly.a.martin

4) ZOE MORE O'FERRALL Zoe's style has been an inspiration to me for the last ten years. I love her black and white graphic style with hints of colour. I'm a big fan of product illustration. @zoemof_ink
5)ELLIOT BEAUMONT effortless and genius. Elliot's work makes me feel very calm. @elliot_beaumont
